Although her waters are still

water spouts twirl and gush - then blur.
No sailboat dares to negotiate her sea
an erratic briny deep
drowning her perceived adversaries one day
then rocking them into peaceful sleep.
But he is brave and bold
he rides the waves of her sea with ease
breaking the laws of gravity
with earnest aquatic expertise.
The warmth of his sun
veils her in silk, satin, and lace
luxuriating in the still waters now
she bathes in the love softly painted on his face.
